The Strength in Asking for Help

Fall is a season that teaches us a lot — about letting go, about gathering close, about what matters. But there's something else it whispers, if we listen: we don't have to carry everything ourselves. Maybe it's the way the wind pushes leaves to the ground. Maybe it's how a single branch can't hold the whole tree up. Or maybe it's just the shape of our own days, when we realize we're tired, or stuck, or just plain overwhelmed. Asking for help isn't weakness. It's the thing that holds a community together. It's what lets your neighbour know you trust them. It's what builds the kind of place where people show up for each other — not because they have to, but because they know the day might come when they need someone too. This fall, if you're carrying something heavy, set it down for a minute. Tell someone. Ask. You might be surprised at how ready people are to help — how good it feels to be the kind of person who knows their own limits and has the courage to say so. That's real strength.

“We're here for each other — that's what makes Iroquois Falls home.” — Uncle Sam
