Northern Farms Get a Boost: $6.1 Million for Better Growing

Good news for farmers in our region. Ontario just announced more than $6.1 million heading to 14 northern agricultural projects. Right here in the Timiskaming–Cochrane region, one million dollars is going toward a tile-drainage project. What does that mean? Better drainage means healthier farmland and longer growing seasons—both good things when you're working the soil this far north. These kinds of improvements help keep farming strong in communities like ours. It's the kind of investment that ripples through town. When farms do well, we all feel it.
